Queenstown Riding Article
A nice article on the Spoke Mountain Bike Magazine website on some of the riding in Queenstown, mostly up the Skyline Hill (Ben Lomond Forest) where alot of the hidden gems are to be found. This area does give you access to all the best steep technical terrain with some amazing trails up there, and the network is constantly evolving. You definitely earn your turns as you do have to power your own way up there, no gondolas or chairlifts (unless you want to do a guided DH trip with Vertigo). Read the article here

Skippers Canyon Style Contest
Throughout this summer, our staff at Vertigo have been having a little in house competition to achieve the best style over the first little roller on the Skippers Canyon pack track. Everytime we have a guided trip into Skippers we endeavour to get the camera out and try and puch the boundaries of what is possible over the 1 foot tall jump.
A few talented athletes have tried to give it their best shot, including some of Queenstown's best dirt jumpers. But at the end of the day it all came down to the natural style and skill of our most experienced Skippers Canyon guide, Simon "Ginge" Smith.
Check out the photos below, but only one man shines through time and time again, and it is Ginge. An immense display of aerial acrobatics on a bike saw him pull out some amazing "mech checks" and to top it all of a big lazy no footer. As if pulling these tricks was not hard and risky enough, he manages to look at the camera and laugh in the face of the rest of the competition. So I give you Si "Ginge" Smith, the Style King of Skippers.

Heli-Biking in the snow!
A fresh dusting of autumn snow over Queenstown made things a bit more interesting on the Remarkables heli bike this morning. Guide Si Smith took the camera up to get some action shots and take some photos of the beautiful snow capped vistas. Blue skies, snow and 18km of beautiful back country mountain biking makes for a great start to the day. With only a few weeks left in the season, this could be one of the last trips of the year, and what a way to go out! Great fun!

Heli-Biking in Autumn!
It's our favourite time of year at Vertigo Bikes, the autumnal colours are in full bloom and the weather is beautiful! It makes for some stunning heli biking! We have had quite a few trips out over the last few weeks, and we have been taking lots of pictures to show off what Queenstown riding has to offer! Enjoy!
